raw material for wood pellets

The process of making wood pellets is very simple because all that is necessary is wood pellet material such as straw, wood, alfalfa, wood, cornstalks, cardboard, grass, grain, leaves, clippings, and cornhusks. However, since many people consider it a science as opposed to an art, some specialized knowledge is a necessity in order for them to make quality pellets with pellet mill whatever ring die pellet machine or small pellet press are. Animal feed was a product of materials such as alfalfa and grain many years ago when people began making pellets from them. However, some pellet manufacturers learned how to make wood pellets that are ideal for heating purposes in the 70’s and consequently, they changed the whole process.  Pellets, which are held together by binding agents that people add from other sources or are present in the materials that are used to make them, are simply compressed forms of the original materials that are used to make them.

With pellet mill, you can make wood pellets. Following are different types of pellet mill: ring die pellet press and small pellet press

Rollers that squeeze the materials into tapered holes in the dies that are present in them serve to compress the raw materials and consequently, they enable them to become hot and dense. The binding agents that people add during the pelletizing process play a vital role in holding the pellets together by acting as glue. However, they only do so after the heat melts them.
Many materials such as wood are easy to make into pellets without adding binding agents or any additives because they have sufficient lignin contents that serve as binding agents. However, binding agentssuch as vegetable oil are necessary for some materials since they do not contain lignin.

Finished pellets usually break down into appropriate lengths when they are extruded through the other end of the dies during the pelletization process when the people who carry it out press more material into the dies. The pellets are then ready for shipment to the market place once they cool down. Although the process of making pellets is easy, the challenge is in making quality pellets that do not crumble. For this reason, experience, and knowledge are required in order achieve this objective. The materials that are used need to be consistent by having the appropriate moisture content.

Hence, the requirements are necessary in order to dry them to the required point. Although some people learn to make wood pellets through trial and error, this is highly discouraged, and it is advisable therefore for them to seek some guidance from experienced people or various sources such as the internet and books that touch on this subject.
